Teens - Education

Personal Development

Now might be a great time to encourage your teen to volunteer in the community. Volunteering is an excellent way to learn new skills, enter the workforce, meet new people and sample different careers. If your teen is interested in working with children, for example, perhaps volunteering with kids in an after-school program would give him the experience he needs to decide if the field is right for him.

There are also other opportunities to learn new skills in the community that will help your teen develop his resume and provide him with new experiences. Your teen might want to take a babysitting course, CPR training or piano lessons.

Try to support and encourage your teen's wishes to learn and grow. All of these learning opportunities will help her develop her identity and provide her with the opportunity to prepare for her future.
