Child Benefits

  • Canada Child Tax Benefit – An income-tested tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help them with the cost of raising children under age 18.
  • Child Disability Benefit – A tax-free benefit for families who care for a child under age 18 with a severe and prolonged impairment in mental or physical functions.
  • Financial Assistance – This fact sheet provides basic information on tax benefits and credits and other forms of financial assistance that may be available for Manitobans with disabilities.
  • Healthy Baby Program – A two-part program of financial assistance for nutrition during pregnancy and community programs that offer nutritional and health information to expectant and new families.
  • Manitoba Child Benefit – Manitoba Child Benefit provides financial assistance which will help ensure parents will not lose support for their children when moving off Employment and Income Assistance. It also provides parents with additional assistance to help with some of the costs of prescription eyeglasses for their children.
  • Universal Child Care Benefit – Issues a taxable $100 monthly payment to families for each child under the age of six to help cover the cost of child care.
